How to Invest

  • Foreign institutional investors such as country funds, regional funds or mutual fund
  • Corporate bodies incorporated outside Sri Lanka.
  • Citizens of foreign states whether resident in Sri Lanka or outside Sri Lanka
  • Non-resident Sri Lankans.
  • Sri Lankan professionals living in Sri Lanka who receive inward remittances.
  • Dual citizens who receive inward remittances.

Investment Procedure

Applications for investments are made available from

  • CAML Office in Colombo
  • Ceybanks Unit Trust Funds - Customer Service Centre, Kandy
  • Authorized Investment Counsellors of CAML
  • Branches of Bank of Ceylon
  • Downloaded from http://www.ceybank.com

Payment could be made by cheque crossed "Account payee only" or by bankers draft favouring "Ceybank Asset Management (Pvt) Ltd" and will be treated as valid payment only upon realization of thereof. Payment may be made in cash only at branches of Bank of Ceylon or at the Colombo Office of CAML.

Non Nationals

Laws of Sri Lanka now permit foreigners to invest in any unit trust fund. Therefore Non Nationals could make an investment as an Individual or as a Corporate Body. Mare details.

Application for the selected fund could be made by a foreigner through a Securities Investment Account (SIA) a special account, opened with any commercial Bank in Sri Lanka (eg. HSBC, BOC or Standard Chartered Bank) for the purpose of investing and repatriation of funds for foreigners.

Creation of units will be carried out against realized funds in Sri Lanka

Units can be redeemed at any time at the prevailing market price. Redemption could be made by signing on the reverse of the Unit Certificate and the remittance proceeds could be made through the SIA A/C in any Foreign Currency of your choice.

Securities Investment Account (SIA)

What is SIA ?

Securities Investment Account (SIA) is a LKR account which eligible investors could invest in Government Securities (Treasury Bills and Treasury Bonds), Equity Capital of Companies incorporated in Sri Lanka and Units of Unit Trusts in Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, following Accounts will be renamed as Securities Investment Accounts (SIA)
Share Investment External Rupee Accounts (SIERA)
Treasury bond Investment External Rupee Accounts (TIERA)Treasury bill Investment External Rupee Accounts (TIERA 2)
Treasury bonds/bills Investment External Rupee Accounts - Deshabhimani (TIERA-D)
